Sustainability

As a leading logistics service provider, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. It’s not about implementing a sustainability strategy: it’s about making our strategy sustainable. Together with our people and our clients, we are pursuing a sustainable future.

A sustainable future

A sustainable future

H.Essers plays a pioneering role in sustainable entrepreneurship. After all, success is more than just numbers. What really matters in the end is caring for our environment, our staff and our clients and doing business with future generations in mind. By making sustainable strategic choices, we can make a real difference and help shape a sustainable society. In doing so, we count on the support of our dedicated employees and partners worldwide. Together we make it transpossible and sustainable.

In 1928, my grandfather, Henri Essers, laid the foundation for what our company is today. The company owned just one truck at the time. Today, the third generation is at the helm and we have become one of the biggest players in the European logistics sector. Yet, one thing remains the same: we are one big family and as a family, we take care of each other, our clients and our environment.

Sustainability ambitions

We established our 2020-2025 sustainability strategy through a detailed materiality analysis, focusing on topics’ economic, social, and ecological impacts and their importance to stakeholders. Annually, we review our approach and progress. In 2023, we revised our framework from five policy objectives (SDGs) and 19 material topics to five sustainability ambitions and 14 material topics for clearer focus and communication. This revision involved merging some topics and removing others after reassessment.
