Genk/Nola, October 23, 2023 – Logistics service provider H.Essers is acquiring Italian transport company Romano Trasporti. Romano Trasporti, headquartered in the south of Italy, operates both nationally and internationally. Over the years they developed into a reference in the healthcare sector. The Romano family was looking for a like-minded and experienced partner to enable further stable growth. For H.Essers, the acquisition is part of its growth strategy to expand and strengthen its healthcare logistics network in Italy.
Romano Trasporti is a Romano family business with homebase in Nola, near Naples. Today, sons Gennaro and Tommaso Romano are in charge. Antonio Romano, head of the family and founder of the company, is still active in the company and focuses on the drivers, the fleet and the garages. The carrier employs approximately 120 people, including 95 drivers, and owns a modern fleet of 95 trucks, and 100 temperature-controlled trailers. Romano Trasporti, a reference within the healthcare sector, handles national and international logistics for several leading players.
Cultural and business match
In search for security and stability in an increasingly complex market, the Romano family had been looking to team up with a logistics partner, which they found in H.Essers. Genk-based transport company H.Essers was also looking for a like-minded player to grow further in Italy and expand its business within the healthcare sector.
