Strengthening the infrastructure segment thanks to takeover construction transport activities of Alders Transport

Efficient transport is a must in the construction world. With its infrastructure segment, our company has been offering suitable, flexible and customised logistics solutions for years. By taking over the construction transport activities of Alders Transport (Pelt), H.Essers is strengthening its position in this market segment, while also leaving a strong mark on infrastructure logistics within the Benelux. At the same time, Alders Transport will take over H.Essers’ tipper truck activities. A win-win for both companies.

As a logistics service provider, H.Essers wants to offer appropriate solutions for all transport challenges, including those in the construction industry. “Modular construction techniques and the use of prefabricated elements is a sustainable evolution within the construction segment,” says Eric Epding, Senior Sales Manager Infra at H.Essers. “Large elements have to be transported safely and smoothly to the site. In order to meet these special logistical needs, we have invested heavily in the expansion of our fleet in recent years, e.g. with additional low-loaders, flatbeds and extendable platform trailers.”

Fleet expansion

We are now continuing this expansion with the takeover of the construction segment of Alders Transport from Pelt. The company has an extensive trailer fleet for all types of building and construction products, including modular construction. “With the acquisition of Alders Transport’s construction transport activities, we are further expanding our capacity,” says Stefan Wijns, the new Business Unit Manager Infra at H.Essers. “We now have seven additional inloaders and eighteen drivers. This allows us to expand our solutions with inloaders in Belgium and strengthen our position in the Benelux.”

Strong network

Both H.Essers and Alders Transport are family businesses that attach great importance to family values. Roel Smets, main shareholder and managing director of Alders Transport Group: “Despite our considerable growth and many developments, we have always managed to retain our family character. We believe in the power of motivated employees, swift decision-making and building on a strong network. The trust and loyalty of our customers have largely brought us to where we are today, and we are proud of that. By collaborating with our partners, we continue to innovate and grow in the regions where we operate. More than ever, we are ready to develop sustainable and constructive transport solutions together with H.Essers.”

Sustainable growth with a new team

With a specialised and professional team, we are further reinforcing our logistics solutions for modular construction. Stefan Wijns has been newly hired as Business Unit Manager Infra. Eric Epding will now fully dedicate his time to the commercial development of the business unit. “We are looking forward to optimise the supply chain of our construction customers even further with our growing infrastructure division,” Eric Epding says.
