Business Unit East goes further East

Business Unit East goes further East

From April 2014 on, our Business Unit East will expand its intermodal program from 4 to 5 trains per week between Belgium and Romania. This means 250 intermodal loads weekly, where we both work with 45 ft containers as well as trailers on the train. This will significantly reduce our carbon foot print and has a positive impact on the environment. The intermodal line between Belgium and Romania exist since 2006. The route Genk-Curtici is traveled in 38 hours.

Extension to Turkey

An extra train between Belgium and Romania also means that we can increase our volumes to Turkey. After all, from Curtici we truck our loads to Istanbul, where our local partner Horoz delivers the shipments at the local customers. Through the cooperation with Horoz, we have a distribution network in Turkey with 28 hubs and we can almost double our volume of full loads forth and back.

Extension to Maghreb countries

In 2013, we started with a service to the Maghreb countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and other. Most of the time it is temperature refrigerated cargo that we deliver with own trucks and trailers. In addition, we have started up a groupage line with a partner to these countries as well.

транспорт Русланд

Finally we are also expanding our transports to Russia. 3 years ago we started with 1 transport per week, now we have about 30 transports per week from all over Europe, via our office in Vilnius, to the following countries:

  • Russia
  • Belarus
  • Kazakhstan
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Tajikistan
  • Turkmenistan
  • Uzbekistan
  • Mongolia

All transports are permanently tracked by our own control tower in Romania.
