Focus on the environment, quality and safety

A great deal of attention is paid to safety, the environment and quality in relation to our logistics processes, people and the planet in order to embed corporate social responsibility into the company culture. This is the responsibility of our EQS  department.

EQS stands for Environment, Quality and Safety. In addition to its monitoring role, the department also has an advisory – and highly supportive – role for operational processes.

The Environment

H.Essers’ management undertakes continuously to improve its environmental care programme in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard in order to limit pollution. Our main environmental aspects here are: storage and transport, waste disposal, energy use and emergency situations.

Quality and food safety

The quality department is responsible for continuous improvement in the quality and food safety- management system In order to meet these objectives we work, among other things, in accordance with ISO 9001, where we constantly aim to improve our quality achievement and increase customer satisfaction.

Safety

As we consider the wellbeing of all our employees to be a priority, our health-and-safety policy is essential to our operational management.

We seek to prevent accidents or incidents, physical injury, material damage or environmental problems at our sites or on public roads, and we aim for continuous improvement in the field of safety.

Against this background, we recently announced our aim in the field of road-traffic safety. It is after all our wish to make our road-traffic safety policy and all related initiatives official through the ISO 39001 certificate for traffic safety.
