AEO

What is AEO?

AEO stands for Authorised Economic Operator, and is a certificate that ensures the security of the entire transport chain against smuggling. Certified firms are recognised throughout the EU as reliable in the field of customs transactions. This certification was created after the 9/11 events, which indicated a strong need for international security. AEO certification promotes the security of international supply chains.

AEO Certification Course

Initially, an application is filed with necessary attachments and the self-assessment form. AEO Customs officials will examine these documents and research additional questions that the organisation is required to respond to in order to be granted certification.

After this, an operational audit will take place where the customs officials inspect the site to observe security aspects and study key processes that are used in the organisation. Once this operational audit is complete, an audit report will be done. This report identifies a list of possible actions to be taken to determine certification.
